Upcoming Closures for I-15/Tropicana Project

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced upcoming closures of southbound I-15 associated with the ongoing I-15/Tropicana Interchange Project. Both upcoming closures are for the installation of Active Traffic Management (ATM) gantries. Please note that the December 20 closure was postponed from December 11 by the contractor.

Monday, December 18 at 9:00 p.m. to Tuesday, December 19 at 5:00 a.m.

  • The southbound lanes of I-15 will be fully closed between Russell Rd and I-215 (one northbound lane also closed)

  • Southbound drivers will be detoured onto the southbound frontage road

Wednesday, December 20 at 9:00 p.m. to Thursday, December 21 at 5:00 a.m. (Originally scheduled for Monday, December 11)

  • The southbound lanes of I-15 will be fully closed between I-215 and Blue Diamond Rd (one northbound lane also closed)

  • The westbound I-215 on-ramp to southbound I-15 will be closed

  • Southbound drivers will be detoured onto CC-215 and turned around at Decatur Blvd

  • The northbound lanes of Decatur Blvd over CC-215 will be used as a dedicated U-turn lane for drivers from CC-215. Local drivers cannot access northbound Decatur Blvd at CC-215 and will be detoured to Jones Blvd

Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions.
