New License Streamlines Process For Entrepreneurs
Clark County and the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson are nearing completion of a multijurisdictional business license for sidewalk vendors. The new license will allow vendors to apply for a local business license via the jurisdiction that is associated to the address on their health permit, and then will have the option to add the additional jurisdictions they plan to operate in.
The new multijurisdictional license is set to be discussed at four upcoming public meetings across the Las Vegas valley’s governmental jurisdictions. Each elected body will consider the new license. If passed by all jurisdictions, it will be put into use.
The multijurisdictional license is set to be discussed at the following meetings:
Tuesday, May 20, Clark County Commission meeting
Tuesday, May 20, Henderson City Council meeting
Wednesday, May 21, Las Vegas City Council meeting
Wednesday, June 4, North Las Vegas City Council meeting
A sidewalk vendor is defined as a person who, from a conveyance, sells food, beverages or merchandise upon a public sidewalk or other pedestrian path. This includes stationary and non-stationary vendors.
The requirements to obtain this multijurisdictional business license include that the applicant must have a state business license, a valid health permit for each vending conveyance, a health card for each person operating the conveyance, as well as a commissary agreement (if applicable).
The four local jurisdictions also are actively working towards the creation of additional multijurisdictional licenses for other types of business activity.
