LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Sahara Las Vegas has announced the closing day for Bazaar Meat, the restaurant from acclaimed chef José Andrés.
Bazaar Meat’s final date of service at Sahara will be Thursday, July 31. The restaurant is expected to move to The Palazzo, part of The Venetian Resort on the Strip.
“Our partnership with Chef José Andrés and José Andrés Group has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Paul Hobson, Sahara’s general manager, said in a statement. “Together, we created a restaurant experience that redefined Las Vegas dining and earned global acclaim. We honor the entire Bazaar Meat team for providing years of unforgettable culinary moments.”
Guests will be able to enjoy a tasting menu or order a la carte through the final day of service.
Bazaar Meat first opened at the resort in 2014, back when it was known as SLS Las Vegas. Its closing date was originally planned for June 30.
Once Bazaar Meat closes, the restaurant space will begin its transformation into Maroon, a Caribbean steakhouse from James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi.
“As we turn the page, we’re energized by what lies ahead with Chef Kwame Onwuachi and the debut of Maroon later this year,” Hobson said.
An exact opening date for Maroon has not yet been announced.
