Road Work started Sept. 16 on Jones Boulevard for improvements between Tropicana and CC-215 Beltway

Motorists are advised that construction activity has begun on Jones Boulevard in the Southwest Valley for roadway improvements between Tropicana Avenue and the Clark County 215 Bruce Woodbury Beltway.

The $19.2 million project will add one additional lane with curbs, gutters and sidewalks in each direction on Jones Boulevard between Post Road and Quail Avenue. Other improvements include constructing raised medians and left turn lanes at designated intersections, traffic signal modifications, and the installation of fiber infrastructure and streetlights. Repaving also will be done along the two-mile roadway. Additionally, a new sewer line will be installed on Jones Boulevard between Russell and Sunset roads.

Starting Sept. 16, Tropicana Avenue at Jones Boulevard will have two eastbound and westbound travel lanes open in each direction and one left turn lane in each direction for median demolition from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jones Boulevard from Tropicana to Russell will have two northbound and southbound travel lanes open 24 hours in each direction.

Jones Boulevard from Russell Road south of Quail Avenue will have one lane open from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work.

Due to the fluid nature of roadwork, the public is reminded that construction schedules and travel impacts can change on short notice. Motorists are advised to check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for real-time information as they head out and to use alternate routes as possible.
