LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Plaza Hotel in downtown Las Vegas celebrated its 54th birthday on Wednesday.
The hotel, which opened on July 2, 1971, stands on the historic site of the train depot that brought the railroad to the valley in the early 1900s.
With 995 rooms and a casino space of 80,000 square feet, the Plaza Hotel is considered to be the birthplace of Las Vegas.
