Life By Music non profit

Local non-profit, Life By Music, who is dedicated to inspiring youth through the transformative healing power of music, while also providing musical instruments and resources to disadvantaged children and veterans in the community, donated 150 guitars to the Clark County School District during the first week back to school on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The guitars were disbursed to multiple middle and high schools throughout the valley, some of which are title one schools, which receive government funding to help students from low-income families meet academic standards.

Life By Music's generous donation valued at over $30,000, made possible in tandem with Free Guitars 4 Kids, Gibson Gives, Zager Guitars & Guitar Center, will provide local youth with access to musical instruments beyond the limited 45-minute school sessions held every other day. This expanded access is vital, offering students who lack personal or loaner instruments the consistent practice time necessary to hone their skills and fully engage in their musical education, thereby fostering both personal growth and academic success. The Journal of Educational Psychology reports that high school students who play musical instruments achieve significantly higher scores in science, math, and English exams compared to their peers who do not engage in music.

Life By Music's next big initiative is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year: the highly anticipated Rock 'N' Run Weekend. The two-day charity event will feature a charity golf tournament, 5k fun run, and evening concert gala, on Friday, November 1, and Saturday, November 2. Visit Lifebymusic.org or email connect@lifebymusic.org to learn more.
