Las Vegas Municipal Court To Launch Free Career Support Initiative

 Court Customers Offered Opportunity For Job Search Training And Job Placement With Goodwill Of Southern Nevada

 

     The Las Vegas Municipal Court is pleased to announce a new partnership with Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s Career Services to support Municipal Court customers with free job placement opportunities and career development skills. The initiative will provide for a career development representative that will be located at the Municipal Court several times a month to meet with individuals who are seeking to secure various forms of employment. 

 

     Court sentences may include a requirement to obtain employment under some circumstances. The new program will assist those who have or anticipate difficulties in fulfilling that requirement or who may generally need assistance with seeking employment.

 

     Understanding that job readiness is a vital aspect of securing and maintaining employment, the Goodwill Career Services also will provide free training sessions on such topics as job search, resume refinement, interview preparation and skills development.  Training sessions will take place at the Municipal Court building twice a month. Court staff will begin to make appointments July 8, 2024, for clients to see a Goodwill representative at the court building.
