(KSNV) — A parking lot in the Las Vegas Arts District is closing Wednesday as crews prepare to build a new multi-level garage.
The city of Las Vegas says crews will start clearing the lot at 201 E. Utah Ave., which is on the east side of Casino Center Boulevard.
Fencing of the lot will start on Monday, June 23.
City officials say demolition will take place in July, and construction of a new five-story parking garage starts in August. Completion is expected by August next year.
The finished garage will feature 502 parking spaces, including 50 for electric vehicle charging.
Las Vegas city leaders have pushed to add more parking in the increasingly popular Arts District to accommodate the growing number of visitors.
