(KSNV) — In celebration of Earth Day, the Sustainability Partners of Southern Nevada (SPSNV) hosted a major community recycling event Saturday morning at 330 South Valley View Blvd.
The event brought together local families, nonprofit organizations, and businesses with one shared goal: protecting the environment through responsible recycling.
Partnering with Republic Services, RTC, Opportunity Village, Paper Pros, Pedal Point, and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, SPSNV offered residents a chance to drop off everything from old electronics and batteries to documents for shredding, clothing, and furniture donations.
“We’re a coalition of community partners working together to promote sustainability and make a real impact,” said Orrico for SPSNV. “Everything here today, from TVs and phones to clothes and furniture, is going to the right place instead of the landfill.”
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission accepted household items and clothing, which will go directly to programs supporting local families in need.
Organizations like Paper Pros offered on-site shredding services, and Las Vegas Livestock accepted organic materials for their sustainability farm.
Residents who missed the event can still visit spsnv.org to learn more about acceptable recyclable items and how to support future sustainability efforts.
This marks another successful Earth Day collaboration, reinforcing that when a community comes together, small steps lead to big environmental change.
