Star-studded charity softball game set for Saturday, July 12 at Las Vegas Ballpark®

LAS VEGAS, NEV. (June 25, 2025) – The Battle For Vegas is excited to announce that National Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson will participate as honorary co-captain and will throw out the first pitch at this year’s Battle For Vegas on Saturday, July 12 at Las Vegas Ballpark®.
The baseball icon played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees and California Angels. Jackson led the Oakland Athletics to three consecutive World Series titles from 1972 to 1974. Named World Series MVP in 1973 and 1977, Jackson was a 14-time American League All-Star and won the American League MVP Award in 1973. A member of five World Series championship teams, Jackson was named "Mr. October" in the 1977 World Series and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.

The star-studded charity softball event gives fans the chance to watch their favorite stars in action as the teams “battle” it out for Las Vegas’ ultimate bragging rights, all for a good cause. The softball showdown features two all-star teams of professional athletes and celebrities, led by Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders and friends.
The roster for Team Bowers includes current Las Vegas Raiders players Jack Bech, AJ Cole, Daniel Carlson, Thayer Munford Jr., Eric Stokes, Aidan O’Connell, Jeremy Chinn, Sincere McCormick and former Raiders player Darren Waller.
The roster for Team Eichel will be announced soon.
Gates open on Saturday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. The Home Run Derby, sponsored by the Athletics, begins at 7:00 p.m. with the opening pitch at 8:00 p.m. A flyover is planned with special appearances by mascots Chance, Spruce the Goose, Aviator, and others. The event concludes with a post-game firework display presented by Century Gaming Technologies. Other event sponsors include Las Vegas Raiders, Summerlin®, Toyota, Raising Cane’s, Fanatics, Ford Country, Comprehensive Cancer Center of NV, Port of Subs, Neon powered by Las Vegas Review-Journal and Aristocrat Gaming.
Proceeds from the event are directed to the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, which will then make donations to the selected beneficiaries. They include: Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, Make-A-Wish Nevada, Best Buddies and Assisting Lives in Las Vegas. The initial event launched in 2019 and to date has raised over $1 million for deserving nonprofits.
