Las Vegas Arts District parking garage construction set to begin

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Construction is ready to begin on a new five-story parking garage for the increasingly popular Las Vegas Arts District.

The city of Las Vegas announced a Wednesday morning groundbreaking to mark the start of work at the corner of Casino Center Boulevard and Utah Avenue.

A new garage featuring 500 spaces will be built at the site of a former surface parking lot. Up to 50 of those spots will be for electric vehicle charging.

There will also be 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

The city shut down the parking lot last month in advance of construction. Parking is available at nearby lots while work is ongoing.

Completion is expected by next year.
